Dwan Burn Center

Any burn. Any time.

The Dwan Burn Center at SMDC Medical Center offers comprehensive burn care and advice 24/7. Call (218) 786-2815 to get expert advice on a burn or frostbite, or come directly to the Burn Center for emergency evaluation and treatment. For a severe burn, call 911 for emergency medical technicians and an ambulance.

Our experienced staff treats all kinds of burns, from minor injuries in household mishaps to life-threatening burns that require critical care. We also treat chemical burns and frostbite. Patients of all ages receive comprehensive care in our 15-bed unit.

As the region’s only burn center since 1971, we treat patients transferred from emergency rooms stretching from Michigan’s Upper Peninsula through northern Wisconsin and northern Minnesota to the Dakotas. Critically injured patients are admitted to our 5-bed intensive care unit.
