Facilitation of Rituals
How people find purpose and meaning in their lives varies. Spirituality may involve the formal teachings of a traditional religion or a less formal understanding of spiritual matters through one’s culture or traditions. For example, some may find a connection with nature, while others find connection through contributions they make to other people’s lives.
Whatever a patient or family holds as most sacred is honored at SMDC Medical Center. We know that rituals have spiritual meaning for the individuals partaking in them. They offer a way to connect with one’s spirit in a symbolic way. Rituals may include music, burning rituals, chants, prayer, or sacraments and rites of a particular church, denomination or culture.
Whatever your faith tradition, Chaplaincy Services can facilitate rituals, ceremonies, or other religious or cultural practices as appropriate. We welcome spiritual leaders from a wide variety of faith traditions in order to help you connect to what gives you meaning and purpose in life.
